    User Manuals

The following user manuals are for their respective version of the Insight products.   We try to have these updated as much as possible but there may be some sections where the software version in the manual is not the same as the software version you are working on.  If this is the case, there should be similarities that should allow you to work through the instrument manual.

    Raptor Specific Videos

The first video listed below is the initial setup for the Raptor system.  Please note that this video is also available when a customer scans the QR Code located on the inside cover of the Raptor system.

It is important to review this video before operating your Raptor system.

The second video is an instruction on how to run samples on the Raptor system.

    • Raptor Portable Initial Setup

    • Hardware overview and GUI overview

    • Raptor Portable Running a Sample

    Hydro Insight Specific Videos

The video listed below is the initial setup for the Hydro Insight system.  Please note that this video is also available when a customer or Service Engineer scans the QR Code located on initial setup document enclosed in the accessory kit of the Hydro Insight.  The Installation and Verification document shipped with the instrument must be followed to properly install the Hydro Insight system. Once completing that, you should view this video.

    • Hydro Insight Verification at Install

    Videos for All Insight products

We recommend viewing these videos in top-down sequence.  The videos start with initial training and continue into more in-depth operations.  We also recommend viewing all the videos to ensure you are taking full advantage of all the resources available of the Insight system.

    • Shape Test Image

Learn differences in how shape measures apply to different particle shapes.  Also, see how differences in shape rejections impact analysis of particles.

    • Method Development

Detailed video on how to instruct the Insight system to accept and reject specific particles. Learn how to ensure the particles you are interested in measuring are being properly captured.

    • Method Development – Starting a New Run

In continuation of Method Development, this video goes over the ways to start a new analysis. Please note that this video is also available as a launchable button within the software where new runs are started.

    • Method Development – Quick Adjust

Part of Method Development requires the user to train the software what particles to capture and which to ignore. This can all be done with the Parameter Quick Adjust. This video goes over all the parameter quick adjust functions.

    • Mastersizer and Hydro Insight

Learn how to run the Hydro Insight properly when connected to the Mastersizer 3000.

    • Run the Hydro Insight alone

This video shows how to run the Hydro Insight without the Mastersizer 3000 running at the same time.

    • Settings and Preferences

This video shows how the Settings and Preference files work for the Insight family of products.

    • Working with Thumbnail Images

This video shows how to use the Thumbnail feature of the Insight family of products. How to view select thumbnails and obtain more information of the thumbnail images.

    • Correlation Plot Function 1

This video shows how to use the Correlation Plot Function for the Insight family of software. This function allows users to work with a scatterplot displaying dots for each particle analyzed. Correlation Plots can be done using any two available shape measurements. Additional functionality is also available.

    • Correlation Plot Function 2

This is an additional, and newer, video of how to use the correlation plots in the Insight family of products.

    • File Types and Locations

This video is intended to show the user the different files that the Insight family of products creates. There are data files, image files, and setting files. Having an understanding of what they are and where located on your computer will help with any troubleshooting activities needed.

    • Reports and Output Data 1

This video shows the user all the different types of reports and output data that the Insight family of products generates.

    • Reports and Output Data 2 – Overlays

This is an additional video that goes over the Multirun Report function allowing users to overlay and compare analysis.

    • Classification 1

This video instructs users how to use the Particle Classification feature in the Insight family of products. Classification enables the user to segregate data and particles using one or more shape parameters. This is ideal to obtain individual particle information from a mixed sample.

    • Classification 2

This is an additional, and newer, video of how to use the Particle Classification feature works.

    • Manufacturing Controls – Pass/Fail Quality Control Function

This feature is useful when operating in a manufacturing or quality control environment. It allows for an operator to run a sample and easily know if the sample passes or fails based on administrator set parameters that are both size and shape related.

    • Manufacturing Controls – Pass/Fail Quality Control Function 2

This is an additional video that goes over the Pass / Fail function commonly used in Quality Control operations.

    • Oil Wear Analysis

For the Oil Wear industry, this video shows how the Insight family of products reports compliant data and has the added functions that only Dynamic Image Analysis can give.

    • Review Runs

This video shows how to re-analyze your raw data using different measurement parameters.
