Applications:

Thin fibers such as cellulose and other natural fibers, which are used as thickening agents, and in such materials as adhesives, textiles, sealers, coatings and insulation.

Available measures:

  • Fiber Width
  • Fiber Length
    • The Fiber model reshapes bent fibers into a straightened rectangle. Fiber Width and Fiber Length are the width and length of that rectangle.
  • Fiber Aspect Ratio
    • Fiber AR is the length to width ratio of the fitted rectangle.
  • Fiber Curl
    • Fiber Curl is the ratio of Bounding Rectangle Length to Fiber Length. It is a fractional value between 0 and 1. Following industry practice it is defined as 1.0 for a straight fiber, and the smaller the value, the greater the degree of curl. (Numerically it is actually a straightness measure).
