Particle Size, Shape, Concentration – Particle Insight Sentinel Pro

Particles are suspended homogeneously in a carrier liquid. They pass through a thin flow cell in the optical path. Light is transmitted through the flow cell, thus projecting silhouettes of the particles onto a high-resolution camera sensor. The high frame rate and high resolution of the camera combined with a high-speed host computer enables the characterization of thousands of particles per second in real-time. This technique is ideal for applications where shape, not just diameter, is critical information for predicting raw material performance.

  • Measures particles ranging from 0.4 µm to 1600 µm.

  • Provides size distribution in number, volume, and surface area in one measurement.

  • Provides sample mass and concentration.

Particle Size – LS 13320 Laser Diffraction Particle Size Analyzer

  • Measures particles ranging from 0.04 µm to 1600 µm using single-wavelength system or multi-wavelength system incorporating Beckman Coulter’s Polarization Intensity Differential Scattering (PIDS) technology.
  • A laser light source is used to illuminate particulates.
  • The light scattered is detected by silicon photo-detectors.
  • Resulting data is a particle size distribution as number, volume, and/or surface area percentages.
